Chicken Kuzhambu


IngredientQuantity
Chicken1/2 kg
Onion
Ginger garlic paste1 tbl sp
Chilli Powder1/4 tsp(optional)
Turmeric Powder1/4 tsp
Curry Powder1 tblsp
Daria Dal/Roasted gram1 tbl sp
Grated Coconut1 tblsp
Aniseed1/4 tsp
Saltto taste
Gingelly Oil1 tbl sp

Cooking Steps

  • Heat one teaspoon of oil,saute onion till golden brown,add curry powder,coconut,roasted gram and little water and grind to a fine paste.
           
  • Heat oil in a pan,splutter aniseed,add ginger garlic paste and fry till raw smell goes off.Now add chicken pieces and turmeric powder.
  • Add the curry powder paste to this and adjust water.Add salt and chilli powder(if using).Cover with lid and cook till chicken is done.
       
Little words
  • I used home made curry powder which has all the spices in it.
  • A quick chicken gravy which goes well with rice,idli,dosa,chappathi,poori...
