Cheese Paratha

Stringy gooey...cheese so yummy...yummy cheese parathas...
Prep Time:10 m      Cook Time:10 m
Makes:4

Ingredients

Wheat Flour - 1 cup
Salt             - to taste
Cheese         - 4 slices
Oil               - to brush

Method

  • Mix wheat flour,salt and knead into a soft dough with water.Set this aside for fifteen minutes.Then divide the dough into portions.Roll into chappathi,place a cheese slice and fold the sides.
                       
                      
       
  • Meanwhile heat a tawa.Place the folded paratha on the tawa and brush oil.Cook on both sides and serve.

Carrot Paratha

Prep Time:15 m     Cook Time:20 m
Makes:5

Ingredients

Carrot             - 1 
Wheat Flour   -1/4 cup
Plain Flour     - 1/4 cup
Salt                - as required
Chilli Powder   - 1/2 tsp
Oil/Ghee        - 1 tsp

Method

  • Wash and peel the carrot and roughly chop it.Place the chopped carrots in a blender and blend them.Add the flour,salt and chilli powder and knead into a soft dough.Let it rest for ten to fifteen minutes.
                                  
       
  • Make small balls and roll into chappathis on a floured surface and cook on both sides till brown spots appear.Apply ghee or oil and turn both sides.Serve with any favourite side dish.

  • Easy to prepare and ideal for lunch boxes.
  • Add more flour if required.
  • The water content in carrot is sufficient for grinding.Add little water if required.

Potato Cheese Paratha

Prep Time:10 m      Cook Time:15 m
Makes:6

Ingredients

Wheat Flour - 1 cup
Potato           - 1(boiled & mashed)
Cheese          - 2 tblsp
Salt               - a pinch
Ghee             - to brush

Method

  • Mix all ingredients except ghee in a mixing bowl.It will become crumbly.
       
  • Add water little by little and knead into a soft dough.Divide this into six equal portions.
       
  • Heat a tawa.Meanwhile take a portion of the dough and spread into a paratha with a rolling pin on a flour dusted work surface.Once the tawa is hot cook the parathas on both sides until golden spots appear.Brush little ghee and serve with any favourite side dish.

Palak Paratha


Prep Time:20 m     Cook Time:15 m
Makes:12

Ingredients

Wheat Flour    - 2 cup
Spinach Puree - 1 & 1/2 cup
Green Chilli    - 1
Garlic              - 2
Ginger             - 1" piece
Salt                  - to taste

Method

  • Bring a large pan of salted water to boil and blanch the spinach leaves for five minutes.Drain any excess water.Add ginger garlic and green chillies to this and blend into a puree.
                                 
       
  • Add the spinach puree to the flour and knead into a soft dough.
       
  • Make small balls and roll them into chappathis.Cook on a hot tawa till brown spots appear and serve with any favourite side dish..

  • The spinach puree can be used for lot of palak paneer,aloo palak...
  • Finely chopped palak leaves can be kneaded with the flour alternatively.
  • Add pepper and salt to the drained water and it can be had as such as a drink.
