Ingredients
Toor Dal - 3/4 cup
Fried Gram Dal - 3/4 cup
Dried Red Chilli - 8-10
Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
Salt - as needed
Method
- Dry roast the red chilli,toor dal and fried gram dal one by one.Add salt and asafoetida.Let it cool and grind them in a mixer in batches.Spread in a plate to mix all the batches and then store in an airtight container.

- Sprinkle the paruppu podi on hot steaming rice with a drizzle of ghee and yummm.
- Grind the toor dal and red chilli first and then add fried gram dal and grind them together to make grinding easier.
